Information you submit. When you use the contact form, we collect the details you provide: your name, work email, company, role if you choose to give it, the topic you select, and your message. Alongside the submission we record the page you submitted from, your browser's user agent string, and the time of submission. If you email us directly, we receive the contents of your email and your email address. If you subscribe to the Journal, we collect your email address, the page you subscribed from, your browser's user agent string, and the time of subscription.
Technical data. Our infrastructure providers, including hosting, content delivery, and security services, process IP addresses and request metadata in server logs in order to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. The content delivery and bot protection layer may set strictly necessary technical cookies. We do not run advertising trackers or marketing pixels on this website, and we do not sell personal data.
How we use personal data
We use the information you submit to respond to your inquiry, to notify you of new Journal essays if you subscribe, to evaluate and progress a potential commercial engagement, to operate, secure, and improve the website, and to comply with legal obligations. Where data protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on your consent given by submitting the form, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the website and in responding to business inquiries, and compliance with legal obligations.
Where data is stored
Contact submissions are stored in a managed cloud database, and the website runs on managed cloud infrastructure. Your data may be processed in countries other than your own. We use established providers and rely on appropriate safeguards for such processing.
How long we keep it
We keep contact submissions while we handle your inquiry and for up to 24 months after our last interaction with you, unless a longer period is required for legal, regulatory, or contractual purposes, after which they are deleted.
Who we share it with
We share personal data with service providers that operate the website and database on our behalf, under contract and only for the purposes described here. We may share it with professional advisers, and with authorities where the law requires it. If Quincus is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, personal data may be transferred as part of that transaction and will remain subject to this policy. We do not sell personal data to anyone.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent.
